Check The Towing Capabilities Of Your Vehicle

You would not want to try to use a little car to pull an RV on a trailer. However, just because you have a truck does not mean that it has enough power to pull a heavy RV. You should be able to find the towing capacity of your vehicle by looking in the owner's manual. If you no longer have that, you may be able to find an online version of it, so try checking on the manufacturer's website. You could always borrow a friend's truck if they have a heavy-duty truck that can do the job. You want to avoid putting too much strain on your truck's engine and transmission.

Pack Up And Remove Everything You Can

If you are getting close to the towing capacity with just the weight of the RV alone, you will want to pack up everything inside and remove it. Haul that stuff in another vehicle if you have to. Also, by carefully packing up everything, you are protecting the things you own. You would not want your stuff falling out of cabinets, sliding off of the counters, or rolling back and forth along the floor while the RV is in transport.
